HBO has a new lineup of exclusive movie premieres every Saturday night at 22hrs throughout May and June. Through exclusive agreements with four of the largest film studios worldwide – Warner Bros., Disney, Sony Pictures and Universal – HBO continues to have the exclusive first non-theatrical premiere rights of films that combine sublime talent with unforgettable storylines, available exclusively for subscribers.


The following films premiere this May, exclusively on HBO:


?         Captain America: Civil War – May 6: After political pressures cause a rift between former allies Captain America and Iron Man, the remaining Avengers are forced to pick a side. Chris Evans returns to the screen as Captain America, joined by Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie, among others.


?         Central Intelligence – May 13: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart come together in the comedy Central Intelligence as two old classmates whose lives take an interesting turn upon reuniting at their high school reunion. After becoming unlikely allies, they achieve the impossible by relying on one another and their strengths in order to save the world.


?         The Secret Life of Pets – May 20: This animated family favorite follows the quiet life of a spoiled terrier named Max, whose life is turned upside down when his owners adopt Duke, a giant, boisterous canine. After getting themselves in some trouble while their owners are away, a rebellious bunny, Snowball, saves the doggie duo in exchange for their help on a mission against the humans who did them wrong.

?         Alice Through the Looking Glass – May 27: An all-star cast brings one of the most beloved storybooks to life in Alice Through the Looking Glass. In this fantastical film, Alice returns to Wonderland after slipping through the looking glass. Immersed back into the world of awe and whimsy, she travels back in time and comes to the aid of the Mad Hatter. Starring three-time Oscar® nominee Johnny Depp, two-time Oscar® nominee Helena Bonham Carter and Oscar® winner Anne Hathaway, the film explores the depths of imagination and beyond.


The following films premiere this June, exclusively on HBO:


The Legend of Tarzan – June 3: Starring Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s Big Little Lies and True Blood), the film follows the life Tarzan, also known as John Clayton III, ten years after leaving Africa. Having already acclimated to his life in England, Tarzan and his wife, Jane, are lured back to the Congo where they will face the ultimate test of love and survival. Margot Robbie also stars.


Lights Out – June 10: Based on the three-minute YouTube video produced by Swedish director David F. Sandberg, Lights Out is the story of a bloodthirsty supernatural creature that preys on a family. Teresa Palmer stars as Rebecca, a young woman who must unlock the horror behind her younger brother’s experiences that once haunted her, bringing her face to face with an eerie entity that is attached to her mother. The film also stars Gabriel Bateman, Alexander DiPersia, Billy Burke and Maria Bello.


Finding Dory – June 17: The animated Disney Pixar sequel follows the friendly-but-forgetful Dory on an epic adventure to find her parents with the help of her friends, Marlin and Nemo. The search for her long-lost parents teaches them all lasting lessons on the meaning of love and family. Ellen Degeneres returns as the voice of the fan-favorite fish, along with the voices of Albert Brooks, Ed O’Neill, Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy, among others. 


Jason Bourne – June 24: Oscarâ and Golden Globeâ winner Matt Damon returns as Jason Bourne, the CIA’s most dangerous former operative. After nearly a decade of hiding, Bourne is drawn out of the shadows to uncover more explosive truths about his past, and soon finds himself back in action battling a menacing group that uses technology and terror to maintain its power. Damon is joined by a stellar cast including fellow Oscarâ winners Tommy Lee Jones and Alicia Vikander.


All of these films will also be available exclusively for subscribers on HBO GO, the premium digital entertainment platform, following their premiere on the channel. KOTE 2017 Cancelled

Thanks to everyone who contacted us this year to submit work and participate in Kingston On The Edge Urban Arts Festival.  It’s really heartwarming to feel the support and the desire from you to be a part of something special in Kingston.  The staging of KOTE is a large undertaking and can be difficult given that it is a 10 day studio and performing art festival held at over 26 venues throughout Kingston with hundreds of artists participating.

This year KOTE Milestones would have been our 10th anniversary however unfortunately given a combination of factors and unforseen circumstances including not least of all the financial strain of the festival, we have been forced to cancel KOTE 2017.
We continue to have a strong belief in the Festival and its objectives including to show that art can be appreciated by anyone irrespective of background and that art can be a tool for positive change in our society.  KOTE  is a celebration of creativity and we want everyone to feel that they can be a part of art.  We look forward to the possibilities for KOTE 2018.

CanEx Jamaica to host its first cannabis Seminar Series

Globally celebrated speakers and power players within the cannabis industry will come together in Kingston, Jamaica to share knowledge and network with attendees at the CanEx Seminar Series. This CanEx event is the first of its kind in Jamaica and will be held at the Pegasus Hotel on Friday May 5, 2017.

The cannabis industry continues to offer promising opportunities in Jamaica, allowing for advancement in various economic and health sectors. As a multitude of diverse regions throughout the world are acknowledging the many benefits of cannabis, international, local and regional experts and stakeholders will utilize CanEx as a pivotal discussion platform to enhance knowledge and awareness.

Featured in The New York Times, CanEx offers an innovative open forum, setting the stage as the premier B2B Cannabis Conference in Jamaica. Speaking amongst the local and regional experts in the cannabis industry will be Super Bowl-winning NFL veteran Jim McMahon and the acclaimed Dr. Uma Dhanabalan, both outspoken and celebrated cannabis advocates.

Of her numerous accolades and achievements, Dr. Dhanabalan is a Cannabis Therapeutics Specialist, holding her Master’s Degree in Public Health from Harvard University, specializing in Occupational & Environmental Medicine. Dr. Dhanabalan is also Board certified in Occupational Medicine, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Diplomate Certified in Cannabis Medicine.

Michelle Wolf To Make Her Stand Up Special Debut For HBO This Summer

Rising comedy star Michelle Wolf (The Daily Show with Trevor Noah) will make her stand-up special debut on HBO later this year. Taping Saturday, Aug. 12 at Skirball Center in New York, the hour-long show will be directed by Neal Brennan.


Currently an on-air contributor and writer for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Michelle Wolf was previously a writing supervisor and performer for Late Night with Seth Meyers. Her other credits include appearances on Horace and Pete and @midnight, and writing for the 2016 Academy Awards ceremony, hosted by Chris Rock.


Stand-up comedian and writer Neal Brennan was the co-creator of the hit series Chappelle’s Show.


The special will be executive produced for HBO by Michelle Wolf, John Irwin, Daniel Bodansky and James Dixon; directed by Neal Brennan; written by Michelle Wolf.


First Look… Game of Thrones returns July 16!

HBO released today the first set of images from the upcoming seventh season of the Golden Globe® and Emmy® award-winning original series Game of Thrones. The highly anticipated penultimate season will premiere exclusively on HBO on Sunday, July 16th.

Retired Jamaica-Born British High Jumper Germaine Mason Dies In Bike Crash

Retired Jamaica-born high jumper Germaine Mason has died in an early morning motorcycle crash along the Palisadoes main road in Kingston.

Mason was heading to Kingston when he lost control of the motor bike, crashed, and died on the spot.

Immediately after, several athletes arrived on the scene.

Among them were World and Olympic champion Usain Bolt, and multiple international medallist Michael Frater.

Mason is Jamaica’s national record holder in the high jump event.

Before migrating to the UK, he trained with the Stephen Francis-coached MVP Track Club but in 2006, switched allegiance to represent Great Britain.

Two years later, Mason, competed at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and won a silver medal for Great Britain in the high jump.

As the news emerged, Prime Minister Andrew Holness tweeted: “Our sincere condolences to the entire sporting fraternity.”
